A Moroccan court has sentenced to death two radical Islamists convicted of leading a terror cell.
Prosecutors say the two, Toufik Hanouichi and Mohcine Bouarfa, led a group that killed several Moroccans, including a Moroccan Jew. Four people arrested with them were given life sentences.
Another 31 cell members were given prison terms of one to 20 years, and nine were acquitted.
Most of the terror cell members were arrested in January, 2004, during a massive police operation in the towns of Meknes and Fez.
Morocco has not carried out a death sentence in more than a decade.
