More than a dozen African artists, including Senegalese superstar Youssou N'Dour and Benin's Angelique Kidjo, are performing in Cornwall, Saturday.
This concert, named Africa Calling, was organized following criticism that African artists were not included in most of the Live 8 concerts around the world.
Live 8 organizer, Irish rocker Bob Geldof, defended the roster, saying he picked musicians purely on their star power to ensure a global television audience. However, he agreed to let the African concert take place under the Live 8 banner.
The concert is being hosted by singer Peter Gabriel, who has promoted African music for decades.
