British police have arrested a man in connection with a suicide bomb attack on U.S.-led coalition forces in Iraq.
Officials in the northern city of Manchester Tuesday said the 40-year-old detainee shared a home with a French national believed to have died during an attack on coalition forces in February 2005.
No further details are available, but a police spokesman stressed the dawn raid was not linked to any threat or risk of violence in Britain.
Security officials say Iraqi militants have been recruiting fighters in several European countries to join the insurgency against U.S.-led forces and the new government in Baghdad.
The arrest in Britain comes less than a week after police in Germany and Spain arrested 14 militants suspected of ties with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi - the terrorist leader blamed for many of the bloodiest attacks in Iraq.
