Iraqi officials say at least two people were killed and several others wounded in a car bomb blast in central Baghdad Tuesday.
Earlier reports said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
It came as the U.S. military announced it had rounded up 428 suspects over the past 30 hours in a major operation against insurgents in a western suburb of the capital.
On Monday, dozens of people were killed and scores were hurt in a series of car bombings and other attacks in cities and towns across Iraq.
Also Monday, an al-Qaida-linked group claimed responsibility for gunning down a top Iraqi security official (Wael al-Rubaei) and his driver in Baghdad.
