Michael Jackson's lawyers begin their defense of the pop star Thursday, one day after the prosecution rested its child molestation case.
Prosecutors called some 87 witnesses during nearly nine weeks of testimony, building a case that accused the singer of several felony crimes related to his alleged illicit relationship with a 13-year-old boy.
Witnesses included filmmakers, forensic evidence experts, Michael Jackson's ex-wife and the mother of the alleged victim.
Some witnesses testified that Jackson has a history of touching boys inappropriately. However, a few key prosecution witnesses ended up benefiting the defense, including Mr. Jackson's former wife, who praised his parenting abilities.
Mr. Jackson has denied all charges against him.
