Like many Russian executives, he was traveling with armed escort when an explosive device was set off in the midst of his convoy. As the author of Russias post-Soviet privatization and the head of a massive state monopoly, Mr. Chubais says he has no shortage of enemies.
The speaker of Russias lower house of parliament the Duma, Boris Gryzlov, says justice will be served. Mr. Gryzlov says Russian police will find the perpetrators, as well as those who ordered the attack.
