British police have announced the arrest of three people in the central industrial city of Coventry under anti-terrorism laws.
Authorities say two men aged 30 and 29 and a woman aged 41 have been transferred to London where they are facing police questioning.
Officials have searched five premises in the area in connection with the probe.
Police have not disclosed the identities of the suspects, and have released no information on the offenses the three are suspected of committing. Police may hold the suspects without charge for as long as 14 days.
Police have arrested more than 700 people since the anti-terrorism law that went into effect after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. Authorities have charged more than 100 of them with terrorist offenses and won about 15 convictions.
