President Bush is expected to attend a popular music concert near the White House later Wednesday, as part of a series of special events leading up to his inauguration for a second four-year term on Thursday.
The concert, dubbed "A Celebration Of Freedom," is one of several receptions, dances and other events related to the inauguration taking place this week in Washington.
On Tuesday, the president spoke at an event honoring the military. He said he is grateful for the troops' service and that he is proud to be their commander-in-chief.
Workers are preparing the city for the hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend the inauguration ceremony and parade. Some 6,000 law enforcement officers and thousands of U.S. troops will provide security.
