Saudi security sources say police in Riyadh have foiled two suicide attacks on government facilities.
In the first incident, authorities say an attacker tried to drive his car into the Interior Ministry, but failed and instead exploded his car outside the complex. There were reports of several police casualties, but the government has not commented.
Police say second attack a short while later on a police training facility also failed, when a bomb-laden car could not gain entry to the grounds. The car exploded outside the facility. No casualties have been reported.
Earlier Wednesday, Riyadh authorities said security forces killed a suspected terrorist who opened fire and lobbed an explosive device at police.
In a separate statement, the Interior Ministry said another shootout in the same neighborhood on Tuesday killed a terror suspect and a civilian at a gas station.
