Iran: Detained Atomic Spies Serving US, Israel

Iran's intelligence minister says authorities have arrested more than 10 people this year on charges of spying on the country's nuclear program.

The official IRNA news agency quoted Intelligence Minister Ali Yunesi as alleging that those detained since March were working for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and the Israeli spy agency, Mossad. He said three of the detainees were staff members of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization.

He did not reveal the identities of the detainees. Last month, Iran agreed to suspend its uranium enrichment activities under a deal with European governments. But on Tuesday, international diplomats said Tehran is still continuing uranium enrichment, exploiting a loophole in the deal. The United States accuses Iran of secretly trying to build nuclear weapons. Tehran denies the charge.
