20 Killed In Iraqi Rebel Attacks

At least 20 people have been killed in two attacks in Baghdad.

Iraqi authorities say insurgents stormed a police station in the western Amil district early Friday, killing six policemen. Later in the day, 14 people were killed and 19 injured by a car bomb that exploded outside a mosque in the northern district of al-Adamiya.

The attacks were the latest by insurgents fighting the U.S. led coalition and security forces of the interim Iraqi government.

President Bush says Iraq should stick to plans to hold elections in January, despite calls by some Iraqi politicians for a delay until security improves.

On Thursday, U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld acknowledged America failed to anticipate the strength of the Iraqi insurgency after the fall of Saddam Hussein.
