Police in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir say suspected Islamic militants have killed six people during an attack on a house of a former rebel.
Authorities say the killings took place late Monday in the Badgam district of Kashmir after the attackers surrounded the house.
The deadly attack comes just ahead of a visit to Kashmir by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who begins a two-day trip Wednesday to review the security situation there.
