African Analyst Says US Election Complaints Similar To Those In Botswana

An African observer of the US elections says he sees similar problems with the electoral process in the United States and in one of Africa’s oldest democracies, Botswana.

Dennis Kadima, executive director of the Electoral Institute of Southern Africa, says for example that there are complaints in both countries about transparency in private funding of political parties –- and about the lack of influence of smaller parties. Mr. Kadima spoke with English to Africa reporter William Eagle.
