Two Frenchmen held hostage separately in Afghanistan are free -- one escaped and the other was set free by his captors.
Twenty-nine-year-old freelance photographer Pierre Borghi was kidnapped in late November in Kabul. Afghan officials said he was found at a security checkpoint in central Wardak province and brought to the capital.
French officials confirmed that a second hostage was freed by his captors, but they did not provide any more details.
There has been no claim of responsibility for either kidnapping.
Also Monday, a roadside bomb exploded under a bus in Wardak province, killing nine people and wounding at least 22 others.
Local officials say they suspect Taliban militants are responsible.
