Calls in US to 'Defund Police' Set Off Debate
Recent deaths of African Americans after encounters with law enforcement have reignited debate over the role of policing in the United States. As demonstrations across the U.S. continue for a third week, calls have mounted among protesters to "defund the police,” with the word “defund” creating confusion.
