Britanski kralj Charles III vraća se u London u petak iz zamka Balmoral u Škotskoj, gdje je njegova majka, kraljica Elizabeta, umrla u četvrtak.

Charles, koji ima 73 godine i najstariji je monarh koji je stupio na tron, trebalo bi da u petak održi televizijsko obraćanje naciji u znak žalosti, što će biti njegovo prvo obraćanje kao šefa države.

Kralj će takođe u petak održati svoju prvu audijenciju premijerki Liz Truss u Buckinghamskoj palati. Elizabeta je u utorak imenovala Truss na njenu novu poziciju premijerke, samo dva dana prije nego što je britanska kraljica umrla, kao monarh koji je najduže vladao.

Parlament u petak održava posebnu podnevnu sjednicu kako bi odao počast kraljici. Premijerka Truss i drugi ministri također treba da prisustvuju parastosu u petak u katedrali Svetog Pavla.

Kasnije je planirano odavanje počasti oružjem u Hyde parku i drugim lokacijama.

Sahrana Elizabete biće održana narednih dana u londonskoj Westminsterskoj opatiji i taj dan će biti određen kao Nacionalni dan žalosti.

Brda cvijeća ostavljena u znak počasti rastu, a ljudi se okupljaju se ne samo ispred Buckinghamske palate i zamka Windsor, već i u britanskim ambasadama i katedralama širom svijeta.
